Sustainable Management of Arid and Semi-arid Ecosystems to Combat Desertification in Patagonia (resubmission)
Project Summary
The development objective, or goal, of the proposed projec is to control desertification in Patagonia through the implementation of sustainable land use management (SLM) practices, seeking to restore ecosystems to their full integrity, stability and functions, within the context of the sustainable development of the region. The immediate objective, or purpose, of the project is to remove capacity-related barriers currently impeding the adoption of SLM in the region and undertake on-the-ground action to complement the Sustainable Sheep Husbandry Development Programme for Patagonia increasing it’s contribution to combating land degradation and conserving ecosystem integrity in the region.
