The Role of the Coastal Ocean in the Disturbed and Undisturbed Nutrient and Carbon Cycles
Project Summary
The proposed project deals with understanding the role of coastal seas in the carbon cycle and the impact of eutrophication in carbon sequestration. The emphasis of the project is on gathering a significant number of empiric estimates through workshops and training on the use of simple models in developing countries. This effort will produce preliminary conclusions on the role of anthropogenic impacts on the carbon source/sink characteristics using exemplary cases.
