Reversing Deforestation and Degradation in High Conservation Value Chilgoza Pine Forests in Pakistan
Project Summary
To contribute to the restoration, protection and sustainable management of Chilgoza pine forests to provide global environmental benefits as well as enhance resilience and livelihoods of local stakeholders in PakistanIndicator (indicative targets): (i) # ha under sustainable management plans (30,000ha); (ii) # ha restored through Assisted Natural Regeneration or plantation (4,400 ha);(iii) # of tCO2eq sequestered through SFM plans (1,928,168 tons);(iv) # of tCO2eq sequestered through restoration practices (854,252 tons); (iv) Economic benefits to local communities from SFM/FLR practices (10 M $)
