National Capacity Self-Assessment (NCSA) for Global Environmental Management
Project Summary
The primary objective of this project is to carry out an assessment of Samoa’s capacity to address global and local environmental issues, and to develop a plan for implementation of key activities to achieve capacity building needs identified particularly those relating to the UNCBD, the UNFCCC and the UNCCD. This will be achieved through a series of self-assessments carried out by a local consultant whom will be recruited together with the NCSA- Project Coordinator to gather information from the agencies and organizations with direct responsibility for environment and conservation issues in the country (the key stakeholders). The aim is to catalyse domestic and/or externally assisted action to meet Samoa’s needs and priorities for capacity building in a well-coordinated and planned manner.
