The Middle Atlas Forest Restoration project

Project Summary

The ultimate goal of this intervention is to create the appropriate technical and institutional enabling environment in Morocco to promote a multi-functional forest management approach that secures long-term ecosystem integrity and services and sustain rural livelihoods.The project’s objective is to develop and implement an integrated ecosystem management system to restore the environmental and socio-economic forest functions of the Middle Atlas landscape (eg: biodiversity conservation, water regulation, sustainable land management) by demonstrating and promoting the added-value of the alternative FLR approach.
