Indonesian Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (IBSAP)

Project Summary

This project will assist GOI in the implementation of Articles 6 (General Masures for Conservation and Sutainable Use) and 8 (In-Situ Conservation) of the Convention on Biological Diversity through the completion of an updated Indonesian Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (IBSAP). The first IBSAP was prepared in 1991 and was adopted as part of the GOI 25 years Development Strategy for 1991-2015. The new IBSAP aims to review the successes and weaknesses of the first IBSAP, the effectiveness of previous and present national policies, laws and institutions, and building on that, to identify current challenges, options and priorities for conservation and wise use of Indonesian biodiversity.
