First Stewards Program

This initiative, the First Stewards Program, has the ultimate goal of preserving biodiversity and reducing land degradation through sustainable use of natural resources, by allowing Indigenous Peoples to remain on their lands and retain the social, economic, spiritual and cultural assets that are sustained by these homelands.
