Consolidation of Liberia's Protected Area Network
Project Summary
The project aim is to consolidate and extend the Liberian Protected Area Network. The main components financed by the GEF will focus on the strengthening of management instruments (strategy, law, financial mechanisms) and the creation of three new protected areas in critical Liberian ecosystems (lake Piso, Gola forest and Wonegizi forest) . To have a comprehensive approach, other components will deal with capacity building and the development of conservation livelihood systems.
