Conservation of Biological Diversity through Improved Forest Planning Tools
Project Summary
This proposed project will develop tools and generate knowledge needed to ensure that production systems, in this case, forestry production systems, are planned and managed in a manner which will contribute to biodiversity conservation or the sustainable use of its components against the baseline scenarios. This project fits under the GEF Strategic Priority #4 on the Generation and Dissemination of Best Practices for Addressing Current and Emerging Biodiversity Issues. In addition, the tools developed under the project will be disseminated for broader application to Strategic Priority #2 on Mainstreaming Biodiversity in Production Landscapes and Sectors.
