Climate Change Enabling Activity (additional financing for capacity building in priority areas)
Project Summary
The objective of the Phase II project is to assist the country in fulfilling its commitments to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climatic Change (UNFCCC) through the development and enhancement of national capacities and through public awareness. Through the Phase II project, a permanent national capacity will be developed to incorporate climate change-related activities in national planning that would allow Guatemala to diminish the adverse impacts of climate change and to meet commitments under the UNFCCC. In this process, the main stakeholder of the Guatemalan society will be engaged and institutional capacities will be developed and/or strengthened.
