Biogas Generation from Animal Manure Pilot Project
Project Summary
The project’s three-year development objective is to promote the transfer of a new environmentally sustainable renewable energy technology through piloting the use of animal manure for biogas-based heating and electricity production at the farm level. The development objective will be achieved by: (i) removing barriers to enable the use of biogas renewable energy technology in the country; (ii) building farmer capacity in environmentally sound manure management systems to reduce environmental pollution; and (iii) reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to help address climate change effects by using a viable alternative to fossil fuels. The Global Environment Objective is to contribute to the reduction of GHG emissions through the adoption of on-grid renewable energy supplies.
