Washington, September 24, 2014 – Yesterday, in partnership with the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the World Bank Group approved a $10 million project to address the decline of important migratory fish stocks in both coastal areas and areas beyond national jurisdiction.

Innovative integrated programs will focus on cities and commodity supply chains to address drivers of environmental degradation; GEF will catalyze climate finance to protect global commons and increase resilience

NEW YORK, NY – The Global Environment Facility (GEF) will support developing countries with over US$3 billion for financing actions to mitigate and adapt to climate change over the next four years.

“With the support of the Facility, we want to increase cooperation in favor of increased global responsibility: caring for and preserving our planet,”  the President confirmed after participating int the 5th GEF Assembly which is taking place this week in Cancun.

The Head of State, claimed that the GEF’s 5th Assembly is an opportunity to “reaffirm the country’s commitment with the world to really make this planet a better space, where humanity can live and  have fun.”
